Chao Lei

Chao obtained his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Tsinghua University, China, in 2015. His doctoral dissertation focused on mobile facility routing and scheduling under uncertainty. He is currently a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UIUC. His research interest lies in resource allocation (e.g., parking pricing) strategy design in a dynamic setting, and service patrol planning under uncertainty.

            

 

 

Antoine Petit

Antoine entered UIUC in 2013 as part of the double degree program of the Ecole Centrale de Lille, one of the top grandes Écoles in France. He obtained his M.S. in Civil Engineering from UIUC in 2014. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at UIUC. His research interest lies in transit network planning and design, as well as civil infrastructure planning under oversize/overweight vehicle traffic. He has been partially supported by IDOT.

 

 

 

Laura Ghosh

Laura obtained her B. Eng. in Civil Engineering from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, in 2007. After working for a couple of years as a Transportation Analyst at Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., Laura obtained an M.S. in Civil Engineering from UIUC in May 2013. During this time she focused on transportation engineering in general and, more specifically, the risk of transporting hazardous materials by road and rail. Also at UIUC, she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering. Her research interests include multi-modal public transportation planning, network optimization, and traffic modeling. She has been partially supported by NSF and Illinois Tollway.

 

 

 

Liqun Lu

Liqun came to UIUC in Fall 2012 via a collaborative 3+2 education program between UIUC and Zhejiang University, China. He obtained his B.Eng. in Civil Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2013, and his M.S. degree in Transportation Engineering from UIUC in 2014. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering. His current research interest lies in reliable and resilient infrastructure systems, and public transit planning. He has been partially supported by the Illinois Tollway and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

 

 

 

Zhaodong Wang

Zhaodong obtained his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Tsinghua Univeristy, Beijing, in 2013, with top honors. He is currently pursuing his M.S. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Applied Mathematics. His research interest lies in traffic flow theory, supply chain stability, and logistics systems planning.

 

 

 

 

Siyang Xie

Siyang obtained his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Tsinghua University, China, in 2013, with top honors. He is currently pursuing his M.S. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Applied Mathematics at UIUC. His research interest lies in logistic systems design, network reliability, and traffic control. While a student at Tsinghua, he worked on traffic sorting strategies for intersection signal control.

 

 

 

Zhoutong Jiang

Zhoutong came to UIUC in Fall 2015 via a collaborative 3+2 education program between UIUC and Zhejiang University, China. He obtained his B.Eng. in Civil Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2016, and is now pursuing his M.S. degree in Transportation Engineering from UIUC. His current research interest lies in shared mobility, transportation and infrastructure systems, and safety. He has been partially supported by the Illinois DOT and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Xin Wang

Xin is now an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His M.S./Ph.D. research at Illinois was supported by a Kwan Memorial Fellowship and a Clean Energy Education Fellowship, both from UIUC, and funds from NSF and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Leila Hajibabai

Leila is now a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Stony Brook University. She started as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Washington State University. Her M.S./Ph.D. research at Illinois was supported by NSF, Lake County Division of Transportation, and CSX Transportation, Inc.

Taesung Hwang

Taesung is now an assistant professor in the Asia Pacific School Of Logistics, College of Business Administration, at Inha University, Korea. His Ph.D. work at Illinois was supported in part by IDOT and EPA.

Seyed Mohammad Nourbakhsh

Mohammad is now a senior operations research engineer in Sabre GLBL Inc. His M.S./Ph.D. research at Illinois was supported by NSF, Lake County Division of Transportation, CSX Transportation, Inc., and the ADM Institute for Postharvest Loss Prevention.

Yun Bai

Yun Bai is now a research scientist at Rutgers University. Her M.S./Ph.D./post-doc research at Illinois was sponsored by the NSF EFRI-RESIN program and the ADM Institute for Postharvest Loss Prevention.

Xiaopeng Li

Xiaopeng is now an assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of South Florida. He started as an assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Mississippi State University in 2012. His M.S./Ph.D. research at Illinois was sponsored mainly by NSF, Nextrans, and the Dwight David Eisenhower Graduate Fellowship from the Federal Highway Administration.

Fan Peng

Fan is now an operations manager at Amtrak, Washington DC. He started as a manager in the Operations Research Department at CSX Transportation, Inc., Jacksonville, FL, in 2011. His M.S./Ph.D. research at Illinois was sponsored mainly by CSX, NSF, and IDOT.

Kun is now a lecturer in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Monash University, Australia. Her post-doc research was sponsored by the ADM Institute for Postharvest Loss Prevention, NSF, and the USDOT University Transportation Center.
